Our watercolour painting of Lytham Windmill features it gleaming and white in the open landscape of Lytham Green.
Lytham Windmill stands tall on the open grassy seafront the Green, where the River Ribble meets the Irish Sea.
It’s one of three well preserved mills on the Fylde Coast. The other two being Marsh Mill at Thornton and Little Marton Windmill at Blackpool.
Lytham Windmill and Lifeboat Museum is also open to the public during the season.
Dating back to 1805, it’s a treasured reminder of the past. It’s how people made food and earned a living in years gone by. Today it’s a very well loved and much photographed landmark which identifies the ‘Lytham’ in Lytham St Annes. Whether you see it against a blue summer sky like the one in this painting, or against a beautiful watery winter sunset, it’s a lovely sight to behold.
Prints from our original paintings, drawings and designs make perfect presents for anyone who loves the Fylde Coast. Seaside gifts for Christmas, birthdays and just because. Why not show someone that you care?
The original watercolour painting is drawn by hand right here on the Fylde Coast by our artist, Derek Littlewood.
