Wonder who might live in the little cottages next to our Lighthouse on the Quay, keeping watch over passing ships?
Lighthouse on the Quay
It’s a one-off piece of original handmade art, created out of bits and bobs.
The driftwood is collected from Rossall beach outside our door at Cleveleys, on the NW coast of the UK. The fence is made from tiny nails with the cottages and lighthouse from reclaimed workshop waste wood.
We’ve dreamed up the scene and assembled it carefully by hand, to create a coastal keepsake to gift to someone special. It measures 155mm tall, 205mm wide and 90mm deep from back to front.
The Lighthouse on the Quay will be sent out well packed, in a recycled cardboard box.
About our handmade art…
Miniatures models, keepsakes and curios are created by hand. We use driftwood and found objects washed up on the shore, together with reclaimed and recycled materials and workshop waste wood. It’s finished with a felt underside to prevent scratching.
They’re hand painted by our artist Derek Littlewood – a representation of places and scenes he’s observed during a lifetime in art. We hope you enjoy them as much as he has enjoyed making them.
The driftwood is washed and cleaned before use and non-toxic paints are used. However these are not toys and must be kept away from children and animals.
…and hand drawn paintings
Don’t forget that all of the paintings listed in the Seaside Emporium are also originally created by hand too. Take a look – we’ve got paintings of these kind of scenes too!
