Made to Order
Each product is made to order just for you. In the rare event that you aren’t satisfied with your print when you receive it you can return it in a saleable condition for a refund. However we cannot accept returns on bespoke products as they are non-standard (of course damaged special orders can still be returned).
As prints/mounted/framed products are made to order, you can expect your order to be despatched within a couple of working days of receipt of your instruction. We always endeavour to turn orders around as quickly as possible.
This has what’s called a coated surface, making it glossy but not shiny. When the ink is printed it sits on the surface of the paper as it dries. This makes the colours bright and vibrant – perfect for photos and images which will be displayed in a frame. We use a high quality, 280gsm satin pearl photo paper.
Photo cards: are printed on a glossy photo paper to show off the colours and clarity in our original photograph to best effect.
By contrast, watercolour paper is what’s called uncoated. This means that the ink soaks into the surface of the paper. You’ve probably seen artists sloshing lots of watery paint about. The paper also gives watercolour paintings their distinctive appearance.
The absorbency of watercolour paper means that the colours dull slightly, because there is no sheen and reflectiveness of light. The paper we use is a soft white, slightly textured 315gsm watercolour paper.
The thick paper is also perfect in conjunction with our Collectors Presentation Box.
Art cards from paintings: are printed on a slightly textured watercolour paper. Your card will look like a real original painting.
- Opt for glossy paper if you prefer a brighter, crisper look
- Opt for watercolour paper (paintings only) if you would like your print to look like an original.
Cards and Envelopes
Each card is lined with a plain white interleaf sheet for your message, affixed to the centre. Cards are supplied complete with a white, gummed greetings card envelope, individually wrapped* in a cello bag. *Pack orders of Christmas cards wrapped together.
Unless the product states otherwise, you can post your card to the recipient for the price of an ordinary first or second class stamp.
Cards are gift wrapped in white tissue paper before being despatched, posted in board back envelopes or jiffy bags depending on quantity purchased.
Scans and Inks
All of the paintings are painted in the first instance by hand, with different types of paint on a suitable surface. Many of them are watercolour paintings on watercolour pads of varying sizes. Others are painted in acrylic on boards or canvas.
Once complete the painting goes onto our professional standard, high resolution flatbed scanner to create a digital file. Test prints are first made to match the output from the printer as closely to the original as possible. The combination of scanner, computer, printer, experience and paper enables us to create a print that’s within 99.9% of the original painting.
In the case of photographs, our cameras are latest technology, taking big original digital files. That’s how we can create such amazing images.
Our prints are all produced to order using latest generation 8-colour Epson UltraChrome HD ink. Prints can last for more than 60 years.
We have put a lot of effort and time into researching materials and production methods. Our aim is to create something that will last as long as possible without deterioration caused by light and environmental factors.
However, we would always advise you not to hang our pictures (or any others for that matter) in a direct source of strong sunlight.
Our plain prints are all supplied backed with grey board for protection, sealed in an outer cello bag, with Seaside Emporium branding.
All prints are gift wrapped in white tissue paper before being despatched. Prints are posted in tough, flat envelopes.
Mounted images are signed by our artist, Derek Littlewood. The pencil signature is on the mount board.
