Fleetwood Upper, or Pharos Lighthouse, stands proud on Pharos Street, right next to the tram lines and Victorian tram stop, in the historic heart of the Port, near to the Euston Gardens, the Esplanade and not far from the Museum.
Did you know that the northwest seaside town of Fleetwood is unique in that it has three lighthouses?
You’d have to be sharp eyed to spot the near derelict remains of the Wyre Light, out in the channel of the River Wyre, but you’d be hard pressed to miss the beautiful Lower Lighthouse opposite the North Euston Hotel and this one, the Upper or Pharos Lighthouse. Lined up, the Lower and Upper Lighthouses guide ships safely through the dangers of the Wyre channel, into port.
This is an original painting, drawn by hand here on the Fylde Coast and signed in pencil by the artist, Derek Littlewood. It’s printed in full colour on a high quality art card, ready for you to frame as you choose.
You could put your print in a frame and stand it on a coffee table in your lounge, or frame and hang it in a place where you’ll see it each time that you pass – a lovely reminder of nostalgic days of the past and the seaside – until next time that you visit.
Of course these original drawings from the Seaside Emporium would make perfect presents for anyone who loves the Fylde Coast or indeed the seaside in general, and ideal Christmas gifts.
