Each of the scenes in the ‘Features’ range starts out with the photographs of the buildings, then a picture is hand-drawn with traditional skill. The next stage for this range is to combine the craftsmanship of the initial drawing with modern technology and create a finished piece of artwork.
What can you spot in ‘Features of Fleetwood’? You should be able to see the Upper and Lower Lighthouses - both still working today - which together guide ships into port. Heading towards the docks is the fomer Customs House building - today it's Fleetwood Museum, and going the other way around the seafront the beautiful and distinctive Mount Pavilion - where Decimus Burton once stood with Sir Peter Hesketh Fleetwood to lay out the radiating streets of the Victorian town. Of course Fleetwood is also a seaside destination so the painting is topped off with the crest of a wave.
This is an original piece of artwork to our very own design, created here on the Fylde Coast by our artist Derek Littlewood.
It’s printed in full colour on a thick, high quality photo paper, mounted and signed by our artist, and framed in your choice of frame colour.
It’s a lovely reminder of nostalgic days of the past and the seaside – until next time that you visit.
Of course these original drawings from the Seaside Emporium would make perfect presents for anyone who loves the Fylde Coast or indeed the seaside in general, and ideal Christmas gifts of course.
